Stay Healthy: Free COVID-19 Testing and Bivalent Booster and Flu Vaccination Clinics

October 27, 2022

Free COVID-19 Testing

Don’t forget that GW offers free, COVID-19 PCR tests for its community members. To make an appointment, visit the medical portal. Instructions on how to schedule a test are available online. Testing is available at most GW campuses and locations, and results are generally provided within 24-48 hours. We encourage you to take advantage of GW’s COVID testing prior to and upon return from travel, especially around the upcoming Thanksgiving break as COVID-19 rates are expected to rise.

Bivalent COVID-19 Booster and Flu Vaccination Clinics

Free bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccination clinics will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, and Friday, Nov. 4.  Please note that approximately 400 vaccines will be available at each clinic. Be sure to bring your GWorld and COVID-19 vaccination cards.

The seasonal influenza vaccine will also be available at these clinics. It is safe to receive both a bivalent COVID-19 booster dose and the influenza vaccine at the same time.

801 21st St., NW
Study Spaces in the B1 Level

Friday, October 28: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Moderna)
Friday, November 4: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Pfizer)

Though GW is not requiring the bivalent booster dose for its students, faculty and staff, the university strongly encourages all to get it at the appropriate time. The bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccines include a component of the original SARS-CoV-2 virus strain plus a component of the Omicron variant to provide broader protection against COVID-19. Vaccination against COVID-19, while it may not prevent all milder infections, remains very effective at preventing severe symptoms and hospitalization.
