The George Washington University is closely monitoring the recommendations being made to Mayor Bowser regarding the stages to resume activities throughout the District of Columbia. The specific timeline of each stage is not known at this time and the plan is subject to change as guidelines and protocols are decided.
When D.C. officially enters “Stage 1,” there will be no significant change to the university's current status. The university will maintain the recommended universal safeguards in accordance with the latest local and federal guidance.
- The majority of university employees will continue to telework.
- Designated on-site personnel will continue to report to campus.
- Residence halls remain limited to those students approved to remain on campus and university on-site staff.
- Additional personnel in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Milken Institute School of Public Health, School of Nursing, Research, and essential operations may be allowed back to campus.
Once again we encourage you to continue to take every precaution to practice physical distancing. Stay home unless it is essential to be out. Do not put yourself or others at risk. Please take care of your own health and the health of those around you, both mental and physical.
If you need emergency assistance, please call GWPD at 202-994-6111 or 911.
